Fibromyalgia State of Ohio Proclamation

Gooooooooo O-H-I-O!!!

On April 4th, 2022, VVFF Team Member Kristal Kent, submitted a request for an official Proclamation to the Ohio Governor, advocating for a Proclamation declaring May 12th as Fibromyalgia Awareness Day in the State of Ohio! After many phone calls and emails advocating for a State of Ohio Proclamation, the Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted have OFFICIALLY declared May 12th, as Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, in the state of Ohio! The State of Ohio Governor is the 3rd Governor in the United States to officially recognize May 12th as Fibromyalgia Awareness Day!

What does a Proclamation do?

A proclamation is a formal public statement or act, that officially notifies to the public a governmental entity has made a formal declaration. A written or printed proclamation document issued by a superior government executive, such as the president or governor, establishes such a declaration by the government. Once the Proclamation is declared, in this case May 12th as Fibromyalgia Awareness Day in the State of Ohio, it becomes a legal declaration/recognition!

Thank you to all our Ohio Friends and fellow Fibro Warriors who took time to reach out to Governor DeWine's office, advocating for a Proclamation for Fibromyalgia Awareness Day! Thank you, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, and Lt. Governor Jon Husted, for this Proclamation declaring May 12th, as Fibromyalgia Awareness Day in the State of Ohio!
